Construction Updates! The clock tower is now installed and on the building! Landscaping is underway, with the sprinkler system currently being installed. The sod will be in around the front of the school by the time we start, but unfortunately the hydro seed will not be ready (it never is, but we had a complicating issue here with having to install a septic system underneath the soccer field that delays the seeding timeframe further than it does at schools with sewer access). VCT tile has been laid in about 1/3 of the school and looks great. Carpeting is continuing in the classrooms and is nearing completion. Lockers are installed in the hallways. The elevator is on-site and being installed. This is a long process, but we are in a good place for the time on that. Kitchen hoods have been installed and the special flooring is going in now. Equipment will be moved in at the very end (that can be a 1 day job, so no rush there). The front office and library desks are being installed by the cabinet maker, and look great! The parking lot has been striped and signage is on it's way. We went over the pick-up and drop-off plan today and you have, what I think is an excellent car pool plan in place! The first few days of actual traffic will always be rough, but the plan is good! I met today with the Sherriff's office and they are going to be helping set the turn lights off State Rd. onto Erda Way to accommodate our traffic. They will also be at the site on our first day to monitor safety on the main street.
